LAST EMAIL!!!Hey!

So, sadly, this is the last email I will be sending out as an official representative of Jesus Christ. I am excited to be with my family again after two years and to see my friends, but it will be really hard to leave my beloved Chile. This country has become my home and I have felt that the people are like family. The missionaries are some of the best friends Ive ever had, and the experiences Ive had here are unforgettable. This week will be bittersweet but I'm going to work hard and keep doing my best.

This week we worked super hard. It's starting to get really hot here, and we've been running all over the city to keep up with teaching apointments and to find new people to teach. It was an exciting week, we met most of our goals and a new investigator came to church on Sunday! She is the mom of P, and the grandma of N, who are both investigators. She came with N to church and they both loved it. The ward is doing an outstanding job at taking care of them and helping them feel welcome.

Anyways, I'm excited for this week and hope everyone has a great week!

So this week went by super super fast and weve been working hard. Here are some highlights from this week.

First of all we had a really had a good conference with the Mission President. They did a training session that was really powerful. The assistants to the president started by projecting a photo of 2 hands on the screen and asked us to guess whose they were. No one could guess, so they showed the next picture which was of a woman with her hands outstretched. We still didn't recognize her, until they asked one of the elders to come to the front. He came up and started to cry. He said it was his mom. They asked him what those hands had done for him. Everyone started to cry. He mentioned how much his parents had cared for him and what they had done for him. They then showed his fathers hands and then a photo of his father. They did the same thing several times until they had shown the hands and pictures of almost all the parents of the missionaries in attendance. They finally showed the Saviors hands with the nail marks and asked us what those hands had done for us. It was a really powerful experience and we all felt the love of the Savior and remembered the love of our families and the love they have for us.

They then showed us A Savior is Born, a new Christmas video the Church has made to help spread the gospel. I hope everyone gets the chance to see it and share it on their Facebook with all their friends.

Later in the week we went to a small town a little outside of Los Angeles to visit a less active family who asked us to come by. We did exchanges with Elder G and Elder P and I learned a lot from each of them. We found several new investigators, including a man from Colombia, a cool guy with dredlocks and a young man and his brother. We had a Ward Movie Night and watched meet the Mormons, and President Bluth stopped by the sector to drop off packages. he was traveling with Elder Resek of the Seventy, so we met him, which was cool.

Anyway, there is no greater joy than serving God and your fellow man. Keep your lives in balance to be able to do this.

Have a great week!

So this week was really great! On Monday we found out our transfers and we had a family home evening with one of the counselors in the stake presidency and an investigator named C. On Tuesday, we had the transfers, so I was hanging out in the bus terminal most of the morning waiting for my comp to arrive. We got here, we dropped off his stuff and we went straight to work. This week found a few new investigators that are really cool and worked hard! On Thursday, the daughter of one of our investigators went to Mutual and loved it! So she and her mom decided to come to church on Sunday for the first time! The service was great, especially because it was the Primary presentation, and they loved it. Great way to end the week. This morning we played soccer with most of the elders in the zone and ate at Papa Johns!

So anyway, we are excited for this week and this cambio. This gospel is about change and hope. It gives us the chance to improve, provides us with a perfect example (Jesus Christ), rules, guidelines and standards, and the process to help us achieve it. It grants us the hope of a better world, the hope that everything will be alright, and the hope that we do belong to a heavenly family, being children of an all powerful Heavenly Father. I love this gospel!

Hope all y'all have a great week (I have do start using my Texan english again) and thanks again for all the prayers and support.
Hey!

So the countdown has started! But I'm trying not to think about it haha. Ive got one month left and one more transfer of 4 weeks. We found out about the cambios today. Elder L is leaving and my companion is Elder V! I don't know him, but Ive heard good things about him.

This week we worked hard and we did several exchanges. I went and worked with Elder M, a Chilean, in his sector, a small town about an hour outside of my sector. We worked hard and had a good time. Later I worked with Elder L, from Korea, in his sector but in the same city.

Other than that, not much to report. The mom in the family we are teaching is pregnant and about to have her baby, but shes having some problems, so we haven't been able to visit her this week. The other investigators are progressing little by little, and the ward is doing a great job now at helping us fellowship them.

Well, the only thing I can say this week is that God works through weak people to do His work. He can do that! Our success is often defined by how much we understand this concept and our faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. And, as in all things, a good attitude works wonders in achieving success. Like I shared the other day, those who say they can and those who say they can't are both usually right! I'm excited for this last transfer and hope to go down swinging haha. Thanks!

Hey!

So this week wasn't the best, but wasn't the
worst. Starting with some cool stuff, on Monday we went to this
waterfall called Salto del Laja! It was way cool. On Wednesday, we
starting getting hit with what we call opposition. Along with other
sort of negative things in general, several obstacles popped up in the
lives our investigators and we lost contact with many of them. It was a
pretty rough day, but the week got better because on Thursday I worked
with Elder W, an Elder that came with me to the mission. We got
to know each other pretty well during the MTC and so it was cool to see
him again close to the end of our missions. Then on Friday I got pretty
sick and so we didn't work much. Saturday was a normal day of proselyting. we helped in the garden of an older sister and went to a
baptism that the other elders in our ward had.

So
anyway, I know that there must be opposition in all things. However,
as the opposition rose, so did the comforting influence of the Spirit,
reminding us that everything was going to turn out fine. We are excited
for this week and know that as we go at it with a good attitude based
on our faith in Christ, everything will work out. Thanks for everything
and your prayers work! Have a great week!

On Tuesday I went to another sector in the zone and worked with Elder G! It reminded me of my first sector which was also a really small town. Later in the week President Bluth came down for interviews and we had a zone conference during the interviews. It was good to talk with President Bluth and Hermana Bluth taught us how to direct music and made us chocolate chip cookies. Later we worked with the Assistants, which went well and we learned some things we can do to improve the work here in our sector.

In General Conference someone made the invitation to everyone to ask in prayer, What like I yet? or What is impeding my progress? As I have practiced this principle, I have felt the need to make several small changes in my behavior, some things I had noticed before and others I hadn't. I'm enjoying practicing this principle and its really helpful and allows me to to progress step by step.

Thanks for everything and ponderize!

Elder PeckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489817979188898478.post-71724764367100695302015-10-26T20:13:00.000-07:002015-11-18T20:20:21.022-08:00Another Excellent week

Completo!

Hey!

So this week was another excellent week. Our investigators are progressing well and we found a few more that are really good!

So the best thing that happened was that the Diaz A family came to church! So, the family consists of D, the dad who is paralyzed from the neck down, D, the mom, and the kids, V, M, and M. D, D, and V all accepted baptismal dates for November and M and M are too young. D and V came the last Sunday, and this Sunday was the first time for D. Getting D to church in his wheelchair is a little complicated because they don't have a car and the church is far. It was a ward effort to get him there, two families helped take him and the wheelchair to and from the church and helped him in and out of the car and the church. They loved the church and were grateful (as are we) for all the help of the ward members.

Also, this week we found several new investigators, but the best are a mom and daughter named P and N. We contacted them in the street and later stopped by their house. They let us in and we taught them about the Restoration. We went by again on Sunday with a few ward members and they helped us a bunch gain their confidence and teach the lesson. We are excited to see their progress.

Also, I ate a 2 foot long completo today and we played soccer with two zones and a few members in the morning! Fun stuff.

Anyway, we are very grateful for the Lords help this week. This is His work and He does it according to His will. Thanks for your prayers and emails!
We talked about Attitude and how we can improve our own personal attitude to achieve greater success as a zone. A sister in our ward made sopaipillas for the whole zone and we watched a super motivating clip from "facing the giants."

We also found an excellent new investigator named D! She was a reference, and the first time we stopped by she wasn't there. We decided to stop by this week and she let us in. She accepted a baptismal date and wants her son to be baptized as well! Were excited for them and hope everything goes well. Her husband is paralyzed from the neck down, but is an awesome guy and has lots of faith. This week we will start teaching the whole family. D and her son and daughter came to church on Sunday. The members accepted her so well that we hardly had to do anything! We are excited to see their progress.

Also, we saw the groundbreaking of the Concepcion Temple! We watched is via satellite in the stake center. Elder Gonzalez and other General Authorities spoke about the blessing of having a temple and challenged everyone to prepare to enter while the temple is being built, using the rising walls of the temple over the next few years as a visual symbol of their spiritual progress. Our mission president attended and translated for the wife of one of the general authorities, so it was neat to see him and Sister Bluth there. They also a made a really cool video to go along with the ceremony that is similar to Because of Him that shows scenes of Concecpion and some members from our mission.

We have been very blessed this week. Its nice to know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. Like a good parent, He is there to catch us when we fall and will keep us moving forward, but He will let us learn and grow on our own. He will never abandon us. Even is we have a bad day, if we fail at something we worked hard at, even if all goes down the drain, we are still blessed more than we deserve, and we know that things will be alright. Thanks so much for your faith in me and your prayers.

Elder PeckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489817979188898478.post-83280507508170880922015-10-12T13:47:00.001-07:002015-10-12T13:47:13.686-07:00Templo!!!!

Hey!

So this week was crazy fun. We had transfers, so on Tuesday we were in the terminal all day welcoming and saying goodbye to missionaries. We had all the trainers in our house that night so we ordered pizza from Papa Johns (which is like a big deal here haha)! Later in the week we went to a conference in Concepcion with President and Hermana Bluth. The conference was awesome. It was in the mission home, Hermana Bluth made a huge cake and we had hot chocolate! Yeah! But more importantly the Spirit was really strong as we listened to the counsel of our beloved mission president and his wife and to the promptings of the Spirit. The mission house is about a mile away from the Concepcion Temple constuction site, so during the conference they took us over to see it and talked about temple blessings there.

So those were basically the highights of the week. Our investigator C is progressing well, even though opposition came into play and he couldnt come to church. We're finding lots of new people to teach and the ward is getting excited about missionary work.

Remember to Ponderize!
Thanks for everything!

Hey!

So I just had my last general conference in Chile. The stake was nice and set up a room for all the American missionaries to watch it in English. It was nice to hear the voices of our beloved prophet and apostles. It was exciting to sustain the new apostles and I'm excited to see the work continue to move forward.

I learned that the Spirit can give customized counsel as we seek wisdom form God. I learned that the gospel is simple and our effectiveness as disciples will increase as we strive to simplify. I accepted the challenge to Ponderize - ponderize and memorize a scripture weekly (a few missionaries who watched it in Spanish got kinda confused when he pulled that out haha), and I'm excited to elevate my thoughts daily.

I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, just as much as I know any other important truth in my life. The 12 apostles are also called of God as prophets seers and revelators. I received during the conference many answers to questions, on my own behalf and that of my investigators, and direction.

This week was otherwise somewhat slow. The other high point of the week was the baptism of a couple in our ward! The other elders in our sector taught them and prepared them for baptism, but the service with beautiful and the Spirit was strong.

This week we also had transfers, but my companion and I are both staying here. We are both excited for the next six weeks and ready to see several more miracles.

Thanks for everything and be sure to ask What lack I yet? and remember to Ponderize. Have a great week!

Hey!

This week was excellent. We did several intercambios and worked with several other missionaries in the zone. Many of the missionaries had baptisms and one of our investigators went to a youth conference with the young men in or ward! We are really excited for the work and look forward to next week.

I've been studying about charity this week a lot. I realized that many people join the church because of the pure love of Christ they feel there. Charity is a gift that all of us should ask to receive and strive to develop.

And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Moroni 7:45

I love all of you and thank you for your prayers!

So this was a super fun week! We worked hard, found several new people to teach and a new investigator came to church. He´s really good and wants to keep coming and participate with the Young men in the Ward. We´re excited to see him progress.

So, an earthquake hit here in Chile this week. It hit a lot farther north than we are, so everyone's safe here. We are praying for those affected in the north and grateful for the Lords protection for His missionaries. The week before, we had a conference with President and Sister Bluth. Sister Bluth told us that she had felt the impression to talk about emergency preparation. It was cool to see the inspiration that our President and his wife receive for the mission.

Also, this week was Chile's Independence Day, 18 de septiembre! We had our preparation day all day on Friday. In the morning we played soccer with two zones and several members. Afterwards we had a huge asado barbeque with a family in our Ward and later we went to a Ward activity until about 8. We ate tons of empanadas, sopaipillas, pajaritos, choripanes, and mote con huesillo. I'm still full! Almost every house we contacted since gives us empanadas to take home!

Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God. Helaman 3:35

As we put Heavenly Father before everything else, everything else in life falls into place. Yield your hearts unto God, and He will make you much more than you can make yourself. Thanks for your love and prayers.
They were a referal from a member from another stake, and he has helped us teach them. The parents are C and B, and the first time we taught them they were really receptive and accepted a baptismal date. The second lesson they told us they had read and prayed and had felt a peaceful spirit in their home. They felt that things were going better for them and real wanted to come to church. Unfortunately they couldn't come, but they are excited to keep learning about the góspel.

On Wednesday one of the assistants, Elder Woods came and worked with us. We worked hard and he helped us see a few things we could do to improve. The next day we had a zone conference with President Bluth and it was really good. We had huge empanadas for lunch! haha

On Sunday, no one came to church, which was lame, but that night we found another family to teach! They have really scientific beliefs, so it'll be interesting teaching them.

The other day a friend sent me a letter with a quote from Elder Bednar that really had an impact on me this week. I can't remember it word for word, but it says that ordinary people constantly and diligently doing simple things that God wants them to do will be able to do great things. It reminded me of a coach that used to say, Take care of the ordinary plays, and the extraordinary plays will take care of themselves. In the work of the Lord, we are asked to be faithful and diligent, doing simple good things that God asks us to do so that He can work miracles in our lives and in the lives of those we serve. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.

Again thanks for all your help!

Elder PeckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489817979188898478.post-40451663466477222042015-09-07T20:07:00.000-07:002015-10-06T20:07:18.617-07:00Snow and miracle family

Hey!

So we just got from a trip to the mountains! We went up to a lake up in the mountains. It was snowing super super hard and it was freezing, but really fun anyway.
We had a zone conference on Thursday and a recent convert came to share his testimony. He gave my comp and I a referral for a family that lives in our Ward, but outside the city, in a Little rural town called Santa Fe. We went out and met them on Saturday and the lesson was excellent. They are a family of five. They were baptized before, but didnt fell like they were born again like they wanted to be. We explained priesthood authority and the importance of the gift of the Holy Ghost. They looked at each other and said that that was what they lacked. They had knelt in prayer previously as a couple to pray about why the church they had previosuly joine didnt feel right and they made the decisión to not stay in that church and to keep looking. They accpeted a baptismal date, but didnt come to church on Sunday. So were excited to see how they progress and hopefully they came next week!

On Sunday the family that had us over for dinner had a huge family cookout which was fun. It reminded me a little bit of my family having cookouts at home, so it was a memorable experience.

I learned this week that when we are baptized and when we take the sacrament we promise God that we are willing to keep His commandments, rember His Son and take the name of Christ upon us. As long as we are willing to do those things, the Spirit will be with us. This promise doesnt inlcude never messing up, it means as long as we are willing to keep the commandments (including repenting when necessary) we can have the Spirit with us. Also, when we are truly willing the keep the commandments, we wont want to sin and it will be harder to fall into temptation. God is very merciful and it really is only through Christ that we are saved. I love this góspel and what it teaches. Have a great week!

Elder Peck

So this week has been great! Super busy but really great.

So I'm here in my new sector working with my new comp Elder L. He's a super Christlike missionary and I'm learning a lot from him. He is from Colombia and is a convert of about 2 and a half years. We are working with several good investigators, including a man from Australia named P!

I got here on Tuesday after cambios and we went to work! On Thursday we had our district/zone meetings and met all the missionaries in the zone! We worked hard the rest of the week and have found several new investigators and I've met lots of members.

On Monday my companion and I had to go to Concepcion for a meeting with our Mission President (which is why I couldn't write yesterday!). It was a great experience and we learned a ton.

At one point during the conference, the assitants got up and gave a short talk about having faith to find people to teach. They asked us if we believed that right now there are people in every sector that are ready to hear the gospel and we all said yes. The assitants then told us that we were all going to get up and leave the church right then and go out to the street for 30 mins and find someone to teach, bring them back to the church where we were having the meeting, and teach them a short lesson. We were all surprised, but everyone immediately got up and left the building and started talking with everyone outside in the street! My companion and I ran into a guy working a gym named J P. We asked him if he had ten minutes or so to meet with us at the church down the street to share a short message about Christ. He accepted and we took him to the church, taught him lesson one (with our Mission President!) and he accepted a baptismal date for September! He said that recently he had been having dreams about his father who had passed away and felt that God had been communicating with him recently. It was a really great experience and the Spirit was really strong.

Last night after getting home to our sector after the conference my comp and I found five new investigators, meeting our goal for the week!

Anyway, its been a realy great few days. My testimony of the fact the God lives, that He directs this work and that the gospel blesses families has been strenghtened greatly this week. Im grateful to our Heavenly Father for blessing me so much and for all He has done for us.

Thanks for all that you do and keep sharing the gospel!

Hey!

So last night I got a call and found out I'm leaving! Im heading to another sector in the same city with Elder L, an elder from Colombia. Im pretty stoked, but sad to leave the investigators and members here.

This week was full of ups and downs. It rained a lot and I had a sick day (I got better!) but we had several investigators come to church! Other than that, not much else to report. Z is progressing well and she's decided to get baptized! We think it will be in September, and I won't be here to see it, but we're pretty happy for her.

Anyway, I realized this week that seeking the guide of the Spirit in important decisions and problems is a simple process that works. God has told us that he who asks in faith will receive, but we have to look for the answer. Thankfully God usually doesn't make it too hard to find.

Thanks for all you do!

This week!

Not a ton happened this week, so this is going to be a short email.

First and foremost, I completed 19 months in the mission. Sadly that leaves me with 4 more, as they cut off a few weeks of my mission due to flight scheduling. So, got a few more months left to work!

Also, we had a good week. We are finding new investigators and we got to go to the baptism of an investigator from the other ward. She was really prepared for it and gave a beautiful testimony.

Also, we made some progress with Z. She finally has made the decision to be baptized, but is still afraid to tell her parents, which is why she still hasn't accepted a baptismal date. We are working hard to help her out and know that we will see miracles this week.

I love the mission. We see miracles often and we've learned how to make miracles happen. I've learned that God wants us to do certain things for a reason. Obedience is important because He is in charge not us. This principle is important now and in life. We often need miracles, and obedience brings blessings.

Im looking forward to this coming week and hope everyone is doing well!

So, this week I worked with several diferent missionaries and learned a lot. On Wednesday I worked with Elder C from Colombia. Even though it rained hard and the wind wrecked my umbrella haha we worked hard and had a great day. Later in the week I worked with Elder R, also great. We went to a bunch of meetings and stuff and had some of the best empanadas Ive ever eaten! And on Saturday, Elder S, who lives with us got sick, so I went to work with his companion in his sector while he rested at home with my comp. We worked all day between his sector and mine, and at the end of the day when Elder S was feeling better, I worked with him for a few minutes at the end of the night.

So, cool story. I started working in my sector with Elder S at about 9:00, and we have to go home at 9:30, so we didn't think we would be able to accomplish too much. We decided to go visit a woman we had contacted a few weeks ago. We knocked on the door, she told us she was busy and to come back on Wednesday. We left and started walking down the street. We were about a block away about five minutes later when a guy comes out of the womans house and starts waving at us and yelling "come here!" We returned and the ladys husband let us in and let us share something with their family. We shared a short video and left them with a prayer.
Turns out that they are a super cool family! They just moved in, their son studied in an LDS school in Santiago, and they don't belong to any specific church. It was a cool experience to find them and it surprised us that someone actually felt the need to call us back and let us in.

Yesterday, we had a lesson with a young man named J. We read the Book of Mormon with him and shared our testimonies. After reading 1 Nephi 2, he said, Hey, there's something that I need to tell you. He said that after our first visit, he went to bed. He said he woke up in the middle of the night with the thought in his head, Its true! Its true! Its true! What the Mormons say is true!
We challenged him to baptism and his accepted. Pray for J!

Anyway, it was a fun week and were looking forward to the next.

Take advantage of every opportunity you have to serve God or to serve your fellowman. Such opportunities are blessing.

Hey!

So this week was awesome. Just going to run through some highlights.

Number one, we visited the Fl family again this week after their baptism! The service went well and we had our investigator Z come. A recent convert from the ward baptized the family and they were all really excited. Anyway, we visited them this week and they are doing great. You can see a light in them that wasn't there before - they seemed much more happy and relaxed. Matias, the son, later came with us to teach an investigator during the week and bore his testimony which was great. V, the other recent convert from last month invited them and us over for a family home evening and they were able to strengthen each other as new members of the church.

Last Monday we went to Concepcion and our mission president and his wife gave us lunch in the mission home. We ate chicken enchiladas and Texas sheet cake haha! It was awesome.

We also taught our investigators Z. She is progressing really well and is so close to baptism, we just need to help her gain the confidence to do so. Please pray for Z, she needs all of our help.

I also finished the Book of Mormon again this week. We set a goal as a mission in May to read the whole Book of Mormon in 3 months. I read this week Moroni 7, which talks about 3 indispensible attributes that we need to be saved: Faith, Hope, and Charity. I learned that we can hope for eternal life as we show our faith by keeping the commandments. Along the way we develop charity, or the pure love of Christ.

Thanks for your help and prayers

Hey!

So this week we had a baptism!

We ve been working with a family for almost 3 months, and four of them were baptized on Saturday! The service was great and all four were confirmed on Sunday. It was truly a blessing to see them finally take this step. They were pretty excited and it was great to be able to help them get to this point. We are stoked to keep teaching them as members of the church!

So this week we mainly ran around getting the baptism ready. I also had the chance to do the baptismal interviews of two yound kids a boy named R and a 10 year old girl named I. It was one of my favorite memories, seeing how seriously and reverently these two kids took baptism. They had very simple testimonies and were very humble.

Also, as a zone we did a grand intercambio, and Elder Quintero from Colombia worked with me in my sector. He is a great missionary, and he only has thee weeks in the mission. We had a good time working together.

Anyway, it was a great week and we are looking forward to the next week. Thanks for your emails and letters and have a great week!
My new companion, Elder P is really awesome, and we're doing well as a companionship. He is from Salt Lake City and is a big skier, and a great missionary.
We are getting ready this week for the baptism of a family we are teaching! They announced it at ward conference yesterday and they are really excited. The ward has really helped them feel comfortable and loved in the ward and we are going to be working closely with them this week.
Heavenly Father loves us a lot. He knows us personally, and cares enough to know when to intervene and when to let us figure things out on our own. As we have been working with this family, He has answered our prayers for them.
We are looking forward to this next week and I'm excited for the new cambio.

Con amor,

Elder PeckUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489817979188898478.post-58119361820045036352015-07-13T19:29:00.000-07:002015-07-21T19:31:01.333-07:00CambiosHey!

So we have cambios again! I'm staying here in this sector and I'm getting a new companion named Elder P! Hes from Utah and I don't know him, so I'll meet him tomorrow. Its lame that I only had one cambio with Elder C, but hopefully I'll see him before this mission ends.

Also, this week was good. We are working with a family that wants to get baptized. We are planning on having their baptism at the end of the month, so we are looking forward to that.

Not much else happened this week. We are planning on starting this week off at full speed and hopefully we will see more baptisms this cambio.

Thanks for all your prayers and support!

Hey!

So this week was a memorable one. Full of ups and downs, but more ups than downs.

Starting with the downs (to get them out of the way): This week I found out the Elder Boyd K Packer passed away, which was really sad news for us. Also, I got really sick at the beginning of the week.

Now the highlights: I got better, so I'm not sick anymore!

Chile won the Copa America! We had permission to watch the game a with recent convert. They had invited a bunch of people, so we watched it with a big group of people and it was super fun. We won by penalty kicks, and after the last penalty kick, the whole room exploded with people shouting and blowing horns. We ran outside and the whole city was in the street, driving down the main streets honking their horns with Chile flags hanging out the window.

Also, my sister Taylor got married! I was super excited for her this week and today I got to see the pictures.

Also, Fourth of July! We bought a completo, which is basically a hot dog to celebrate haha.

And, the most important: V got baptized! The service was Saturday morning and was fantastic. She was confirmed on Sunday.

Anyway, that's about it, it was a great week. Thanks for everything!

So this week was really great. Elder Gonzalez from the Seventy and the Area Presidency here came and spoke to our mission. It was a great experience and he answered lots of questions. The whole conference was very centered on the doctrine of Christ. He also taught that the goal of missionary work should be the temple: that those who get baptized should one day arrive at the temple.

We have been teaching a family that has started to progress really well. The 10 year old son D has been coming to church for a while and we invited the mom, S, to come as well. They now come to church every Sunday, D, S, and last Sunday his brother M came. We taught about the Book of Mormon during the week and invited them to read one chapter as a family. In the next appointment, D, S, and M all came in with their Book of Mormons excited to tell us that they had read together as a family and read more than the assigned chapter. The three accepted baptismal dates and came to church. Between the last appointment and Sunday, M read 10 chapters and they still read as a family. We are really excited for them and see them being baptized soon!

We are also teaching a woman named V who is going to get baptized this Saturday. She's really excited and we are super happy that she's getting baptized!

These last few weeks President Bluth has given us permission to watch the Copa America soccer games (when Chile plays)! We have to watch them with someone were are teaching. Its been awesome to see Chile play. They're doing well and we're hoping they'll keep advancing.

Have a great week!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489817979188898478.post-43666997626067360872015-06-22T18:47:00.000-07:002015-07-21T19:31:23.171-07:00Intercambios y AsadosHey!

So this week was a good one. We did two exchanges this week and for both I stayed in my sector, which helped me get to know it better. On Tuesday Elder S from Peru came with me and worked and then on Wednesday Elder R from Utah came and worked with me. It was fun to work with other missionaries and the 2 exchanges went well.
Also on Sunday we had a cool experience. We were praying really hard that our investigators would be able to come to church. We worked really hard and prayed hard all week, and on Sunday six of them came and were immediately welcomed by the members! We were really grateful and our prayers were answered. They liked church and felt the Spirit. The are all finally progressing!
Today we did a zone activity. We played soccer and dodge ball and had a huge barbecue.
The only thing I can say is that Heavenly Father answers prayers. Its easier to see the answers when our prayers are specific and directed by the Spirit. Also, as we do all we can to accomplish what is asked for in the prayer, Heavenly Father always does His part.
