16 Months

Hey!

So this week was crazy, and though I can't go into details, just know that I feel like Heavenly Father really has "opened the windows of heaven" and poured out many blessings and lots of rain haha.

Cool thing 1 that happened this week: We did exchanges in our zone this week and I was assigned to work with my trainer, Elder Padilla! It was awesome working with my "dad" in the mission again. We worked in his sector and had a successful day.

Other cool thing:  On saturday we worked really hard all day with little success.  We decided to pass by the chapel before our next appointment to drop off the member that was with us and to help the Elders Quorum clean up a little bit.  We talked to a brother who had told us about his nephew that wanted us to visit him.  The other two elders here had previously planned to visit him, but were not able to, so they had us set up an appointment instead.  We talked to the brother there, he set us up an appointment with his nephew, and we passed by that night after our other appointment.
When we started the lesson, the Spirit was already really strong. The nephew, Javier, was there with us and his two uncles.  We asked him if he had any questions, and he asked us "How do I become an Elder like you guys?" We told him the first step was baptism and he accepted the invitation to be baptized. The Spirit was strong in the lesson.   This scripture came to mind when we saw his desire and humility:

Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.

He came to church this Sunday ad we are going to visit him again tomorrow.

The gospel works for the humble, those who will do the will of the Father, like children.  We need to be childlike (not childish) in our pursuit of truth, righteousness and happiness.

Have a great week!
